My name is Morayo Kassim, and I wanted to join the National Diversity Coalition (NDC) to have a method of gaining resources to expand the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) work that I've done at USN. I'm passionate about DEI work because I've seen countless instances of identity-targeted violence (i.e. racism, sexism, etc.) at my school which have not been properly addressed. To try and solve this problem, my sister and I focused ALBANIE, the diversity club we lead, on educational club meetings, and created a proposal for a committee alongside two other USN students. Long-term, I want to see my school become properly equipped to handle these instances of violence, and have the curriculum be restructured to properly teach the history of minority communities.

The Ambassadors of The National Diversity Coalition are student leaders from schools all around the nation that collaborate in the coalition to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion at their school. The Diversity Alliance Executive Team will collaborate with you to elevate your DEI work on a bigger platform with various events and initiatives.
